Sort alerts by urgency

A message from someone who needs an answer today belongs in a different category from a newsletter or a sale. Configure notifications around that distinction rather than switching an entire app on or off. Put routine updates into a place you check at a chosen time. This keeps urgent communication possible without letting every update interrupt your work.

Write down the next action

Before opening a browser or inbox, write one concrete next step: draft the first chart, reply to the client with three options, or review the opening paragraph. It does not have to describe the whole day. It only needs to be clear enough that you can begin. When a distraction arrives, the sentence helps you return to the work you chose.

Take breaks away from the feed

A break does not need another screen. Stand up, get water, or walk for a few minutes. That brief change gives your attention a real pause. Over time, a calmer rhythm can make it easier to finish a task than constantly switching between tools that each promise to save a few seconds.
